A program designed to introduce children
with disabilities to the world of technology. Through a journey
taken either by the imagination, using a specially adapted switch activated
toy, or a voyage driven by the latest software, Tech-Tots lending
library offers an opportunity to experience success in a non threatening
environment. Computers and a variety of software can be explored
in the library and/or checked out to individual homes.
Educational Benefits
Children with disabilities are frequently unable to experience
play and cannot benefit from exploratory learning like their able
bodied peers.
Computers, switch activated toys, and other devices serve as the
scissors, paper, crayons, and building blocks that allow first
time experiences with independence, choice making and problem
solving.
